What sites not to be missed in Bruges

I'm leaving in a few days in Bruges ....
Does some know this city?
What sites not to be missed?
And above all, do you have good restaurants addresses to recommend?

The Minnewater (Lake of Love), the belfry, the museum Choco Story. We can also make city tours horse-drawn carriage and there is a shopping street for shopping :)

I do not know too many restaurants but avoid those tourist places like the main square.

Otherwise deedee was invited last winter to stay there by the OT Bruges and you can find some tips on his blog

I went to Bruges two days love for the new year
you can climb to the top of the belfry and you will have a beautiful view
the carriage ride costing 30 euros ...

if you can still walk you can boat on the canals ...
if you can not walk through the streets is really nice and lovely shops plien ...
there's the shopping street which is very nice with even a new look!
and do not forget to buy chocolates ... it's the best in the world!
if you're on facebook mp I have a whole album on bruges!

*** thank you for your opinion.

A view at the museums: the Memling Museum and the Museum of Groeningen. The Saint-Jacques church in the old port area is superb. Do not hesitate to wander off the streets, to ride on the famous canals and even a little carriage ... the Beguinage and Lake of Love is beautiful in autumn colors.
Fun to do: visit the Halve Maan Brewery near the Beguine to discover the beer production process complex. The tour ends with a tasting! I who hate beer, I found it very friendly, is tell you! (And have passed on my mug my darling)

In terms of places:

Restaurants Erasmus Wollestraat 35, http://www.bierrestaurant-hotelerasmus-brugge.com/ recommended by Deedee but tested and approved by us. Nice setting, friendly welcome, delicious specialties at reasonable prices (menus between 30 and 40 euros): one of the best meals made long ago. I recommend the beef stew with beer and apple sauce.

Not tested but seems pretty good too: Dreveken, Huidevettersplein 10-11, beautiful 16th century house which also serves traditional cuisine.

Tearooms: Verdi Vlamingstraat 5, and De Proverie, Katelijnestraat, 6, serve a delicious hot chocolate house to dose yourself as well as for the first divine waffles and pastries to die for the second. Nice decor and large open fires in both. Note that in Verdi, we savor these delicacies in music ... Verdi arias course!

Thank you, Arthénice. I go to Bruges for a weekend in a week.
I can not wait to test this! But for once, this is the man who organized ... So, I note the addresses in a corner, just to have something to suggest it dry, but I'll try to let him guide me one time.

I raise the subject because I am trying to organize a small romantic weekend in Bruges in October.
Of earlier information is already quite useful, and I'm all down: P
But if one of you to additional information (hotel, B & B, transport ...), or at least more ressentes, I'm all ears!

We went there with friends in Bruges two weeks ago, so it's still fresh in my head.

We stayed in a B & B in the main square (Markt) here. It cost us 125 euros a night, with breakfast, and if you want something romantic and classy, it's perfect. We we stayed all animals before the House because it was so huge and luxurious (nice luxury to the former, I loved).

We ate at the restaurant of the B & B, taken by Gault Millau and several other guides, and Bruges, the value for money was good, the food was delicious and excellent food. In short, I recommend, though a French couple next to us did not stop bitching about everything and nothing. In fact, this is the only real good restaurant instead.

The ride on the canals costs 6.70 euros per person. It takes half an hour, and even if it's ZE trick to tourists, it's worth it to do it, it's really pretty.

Regarding the language to use, frankly, as a French-speaking Belgian, it felt much less attacked in Bruges at the Belgian coast, for example. And every time we made an effort to speak Dutch, they answered us in French. At B & B / restaurant where we were, indeed, they even had specially hired a French server.

For the rest of the visits, we left it was mainly carried by our feet.
Otherwise, it seems that a village next to the Link name is beautiful, as beautiful as Bruges, tourists and less.

Good for B & B that is true it is beautiful and classy, but hey I confess that it is a bit expensive for us. We want to stay there for 2 nights so good € 120 it's what we expected for 2 !!! Anyway, I have some names, I'll look at it more closely ..
If what you tell me about the language reassures me a little. It is true that the French are not well seen général..ils not make too much effort in étrangères..je languages do not at all see why we say that !!! : Oops:: oops:: oops:
For the ride on the canals, we will have to convince my man is not his thing too but it's so romantic !! : Lol:
And for the rest, you're right we will leave wearing ..

last small question..Vous you're made to how ?? because we want to go by car, but there is the problem of parking ...

For the B & B, yes, I suspected that it was a bit expensive. Us it was only one night and it was for our anniversary, so we got fun.

To get there, we took the car and we parked in a pay parking. It cost us 8.70 euros for 24 hours. Apart outside the city, it is difficult to find free parking.

What about the language, in fact the French are not particularly frowned upon because of their language, rather it is the Belgian francophones who are not high in the heart of some (I emphasize "some") Flemings. So basically, unless you come across a c ** mouthed, you'll have no problem.

The ride on the canals, it is in larger groups, so for the mega romance could use some work

Hotel in Bruges; People opinion about Bryghia hotels,

Bryghia hotels in burges
We recently stayed at the hotel barge. It's really nice. The cabins are not very big but cozy. It is very clean. We really liked the concept. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is pretty good and last but not least, no parking fees. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the city center and not far from the Beguine he must see in Bruges. Only small downside, the restaurant that we did not find gourmet; it was good but not great. Good advice, ask for a room overlooking the canal, it is better than the other side where you saw the parking lot.

Thank you for your advice, the Board proposed to us actually canal view. I also read to ask for a room on the top floor to noise ratio. On the other hand, I believe that there are rooms with double bed and other with twin beds, what did you like room?
I have heard of Minnewaterpark the you advise me?
If you have a good restaurant quality / price ratio advise me for the night, I'm all ears. Are there types of fast food to nibble Mac donald lunch?
I allow myself to resolliciter you if I have other questions.

We had a room with a double bed and we were on the top floor.
The minnerwaterpark is the park that you pass through to make you the center of the city. It is very nice. If you have the opportunity to take bikes with, I strongly advise you. We forgot ours and we have enough regretted. Note that you can rent at several shops in town (we only stayed one day so we did not).
For such restos "gastro" I do not see. I think there was some addresses in the guide book. Of you want to eat alone, there is the restaurant on the boat: as I said, this is not really what may be called haute cuisine but it is not bad, plus the setting is pleasant . The dishes are hearty So an entry may not be necessary. We had taken into shrimp croquettes and then a fish dish, it was far too as usual, we are called here "good forks".
There is a Quick or McDonalds, I do not know, on the main square and another fast food place on Saturday morning when the market takes place. If you like it, there is also a restaurant that sells pita in a small street just to the right of the gazebo. I will recommend it, pitas are really very good and plentiful.
Have fun in Bruges. At your disposal if you still have questions.

On the square, opposite the town hall, there are two chip stalls.
I think this is the best I've eaten.
These fries with sausages for a few euros more made me lunch.
Good stay.

You will find dishes in any tavern, pub or even options: the culture of lunch is not very widespread in Belgium (Belgium is among the countries where we eat hot once daily and other times it's toast: in time, it was evening, but now it's at noon) and nobody will be surprised to see you order a simple salad or tomato shrimp - is when -even better than McDo ...
In addition, Belgium is a country where the food is good (the concentration of starred restaurants is also greater than in France) and you really unlucky to eat badly. That said, Bruges is a great tourist city ...
By car or bike, you can also make you in Damme, 6 km. There was a time a very famous restaurant for lobster and meat along the canal and full of small restaurants in the city and around it. Since most tourists stay in Bruges and las clientele is local, there's a good chance they eat better.

The barge, you're fast enough to Beguine (more or less 5 minutes). If you want to go on the main square, it takes a 1/4 hour walk.
The Saturday morning market is a more traditional market of clothes, fruits, vegetables, specialties of the country .....

A pita is a Greek bread with vegetables (raw cabbage kind, corn, carrots, peppers ....) and roasted meat. On the whole, we put a sauce of your choice. It's very good.
For restaurants, I suggest you look in the guide book and on the net. I personally do not see.

Yes, I loved Bruges, lovely walks to do, an ideal place for lovers of beer and chocolate, a city where good life has meaning. NB.Dans one museum I was very impressed by the guillotine that France has offered.

Good evening I visited BRUGE is a wonderful city for those who love architecture. I visited on foot but I do not recommend it (too broken in the evening) by cons you can rent bikes outside the city, in the notement camping located opposite one of the doors, unfortunately I not remember which one. It needs to visit with the sun and take a ride on the canals, so it's worth the detour good Michel visits

Bruges is a beautiful city full of history. You'll be able to wander around in a carriage, sightseeing by boat (the channel), you will spend a good time, not to mention good shopping, chocolate, and beer ...
